Ready. Set. LAUNCH!
“Thus far the LORD has helped us.” (1 Samuel 7:12)
*NOTE: Please read the announcements below as many new ones have been added this week!*
It’s officially time to launch River Oaks: Clover Hill! It’s been over a year since we first began this journey, and now the moment is finally here to step into this new work the Lord has led has to…and He really has led us! Every step of the way our great God and Savior has been abundantly faithful to provide us with more than we could ask or imagine.
So beloved saints, by the power of the Holy Spirit, let’s launch Clover Hill! Tomorrow at 10:30, let’s gather to worship the Triune God together and fellowship in His glorious gospel!
My hometown church often shares these 5 practices to gathering well on Sunday mornings. These are some great ideas to consider as we prepare to gather together for the first time on the Lord’s Day!
5 Practices to Gathering Well:
Be Present – The first step to gathering well: Gather!
Be Early – Prioritize the gathering with your time. Don’t be late. The practical discipleship of this priority can be profound for you and your family.
Be Prepared – Ponder, pray, sing, fast, and praise are all good ways to prepare.
Be Uncomfortable – Sit with different people. Sing loud. Challenge routines. Gather on mission.
Be Responsive – Don’t just be hearers of the word, be doers. Pray. Ponder. Repent. Change. Practice. Respond in action. Too often we gather to affirm what we already hold, rather than be taught, rebuked, corrected, or trained in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). Gather to be transformed.
I can’t wait to worship with y’all tomorrow for the first time (the first of many!).
Happy Launch Day!
“Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory,
for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!” (Psalm 115:1)
NEW - Prayer this Sunday: Jon Burkett is leading prayer tomorrow morning before the service from 8:30-9:30am in the Loft (the upstairs area). Join us to pray and get ready for our first worship gathering!
NEW - Christmas Giving Trees: Our Giving Tree is set up in the front of the sanctuary. You’ll find tags for food/gas gift cards to help members of our church and community, along with tags to help with local ministries (the Pregnancy Resource Center and Isaiah 117 House, for example). Cards are due back by Jan 7 and can be placed in the offering box. You can bring donations to the church/office (donation box) or give online (memo line: Benevolence).
NEW - Clover Hill Pictures: This Sunday morning LaDonna Covert will be taking pictures for families/individuals outside after the service. Join us in commemorating both our first Sunday together with some pictures to remember!
NEW - Online Giving: You can officially begin online giving for Clover Hill. If you’ve been giving to River Oaks online, you’ll need to stop those auto-payments, and begin new ones for Clover Hill.
NEW - Christmas Eve Schedule: Christmas Eve is on Sunday this year! We won’t have an evening candlelight service this year so that our church body and all who serve may enjoy family time. However, our morning service will be a candlelight service for the whole family! Children’s ministry won’t be available so we can all celebrate Christmas Eve together.
NEW - Student Ministry Christmas Party: Middle and High schoolers, join us as we celebrate the birth of our Savior! The Slice party will be Sat, Dec 9, 5:00-8:00pm at Clover Hill. Please bring a snack/desert to share and a $5 gift for an exchange.
Clover Hill Women’s Study: The Bible is one big, beautiful story from Genesis to Revelation! Join us as we take a six-week journey through four major themes of the Bible with Greg Gilbert's book "The Epic Story of the Bible". We will meet at Clover Hill on Monday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm. Books are $5. Please sign up on Church Center. For more info, contact Martie Thomas or Nikki Moore.
Website: River Oaks: Clover Hill’s website is officially live! You can check it out here. Feel free to share it with those you’re inviting to the new church!
Social Media: Clover Hill is now on Instagram and Facebook and YouTube.
